Philosophy

In my yoga classes, I invite you to follow your breath, let go, and play. I want you to feel empowered to put down the masks you wear, the obligations you feel tied to and the labels you identify with. Let go of societal expectation of what it means to look good and be successful. Even the labels we may gain strength and joy from such as mother, brother, neighbor, I invite you to consider placing them gently beside your mat or outside the door for a yoga class to experience what that feels like. Imagine… nowhere to be, nothing to do, just you. If I had a mantra for my yoga class, it would be this: Let go of what happened before. Let go of what might happen after. Let go of expectations, obligations, judgement… when you step onto your mat, just BE.

Here. Feeling and following your breath as it moves throughout your body. You are alive. Revel in this amazing opportunity to be alive. Smile. It feels great. Play. It’s fun! And if you fall, laugh about it. You’ll get it one day. And if you don’t, who cares. You are still perfect exactly as you are. That’s when yoga gets awesome. When you realize it’s not at all about the poses, but the way it makes you feel. When you realize that your mind has calmed and found focus, and in those moments, life is AMAZING.
